How to make Boot Covers

Materials

• Material to cover boot with
• Zipper (if working with non-stretchy material

Tools

• Something to sew with
• pins

Procedure

Step 1 - With desired shoe on

Place two pieces of fabric around your leg and pin, as shown in the drawing, making sure its a good snug fit and that you get all the unusual curves.

Note: If you are planning to use fabric that does not stretch, then preare the back seam of the boot cover for a zipper.

Step 2

Carefully pull foot and shoe out between the pinned fabric layers. Fix any ripples in the fabric so it lays flat, then sew a stretch seam along pinned line, leaving it open at the top where the heel will poke through. Cut away extra fabric.

Step 3

Try on your boot cover and make any necessary fixes, changes or added details. It's alwasy a good idea to reinforce the bottom of the sole with a heel grip or extra fabric.
