How to make a Harry Potter Wand

Center

This is reaaaaly easy, why? Well, because I made this the same day that I'm doing this tutorial and it takes about 5 hours tops. This is for people who won't fork out about $20 or more on custom made wand, who don't want plastics ones or use some random twigs in the lawn for wands.

Procedure

Okay, first off, the brush that I used had a flat front, at the bristles and using your fingers or scissors, make it round.

Scrape off the paint of the brush, and if you have a clear one, still, scrape off the varnish so you can paint on it later. Use sandpaper if you have some of them laying around, but since I didn't I scraped it off using the knife.

And since we're doing Harry's wand, it's 11 inches long and here's what you can do if your brush is not long enough. From the old coloured marker, take the cap off and put it on the brush, the part with the bristles.

Secure it with masking tape.

Cover it with more masking tape untiil the part with metal is hidden under it.

Cut some more tape, and fold it about 5-8 mm, it's for the handle. Make 2 of them.

Tape it on like the picture.

Make your finishing touches on the handle with tape.

See how you easily you hold it?

Now, take out your paint set and take out these 3 colours: Black, yellow ochre, and brown.
Potter_wand_11.jpg

For the wood part, it's reddish brown. So, use brown and put in some black and yellow ochre, and mix it until it looks nice. Not too dark tho', because the handle must be DARKER. So, handle is dark brown. Just Use brown and black. If you don't get what I'm saying, look for a picture for reference.

Finished colouring, see?

To finish it off, use the clear spray or clear varnish to make it shiny~ And if you DON'T have any clear varnish laying around, that's where the glue comes in. Make sure the paint is dry then apply the glue. Make sure you cover as many surface in one swipe because the paint tends to come off with the glue, and make sure there are no air bubbles either.

And there it is, the Cheap-o Guide to Making Your Own Harry Potter Wand. Have fun making it and playing around with it! Just don't poke people or a troll with it ^^
