Wikifying / wikify / wikified is the process of converting anything into content sutiable for this (or any wiki). If you are new to CosplayWiki and you want to help out, but don't have a tutorial you have written yourself, then feel free to help out by wikifying a tutorial that has already been approved to be posted on CosplayWiki.

There are several things to note before getting started. The first is that all the tutorials posted on this page have been given permission by the people who orignally created them to be posted on CosplayWiki. This is important as we can't just be taking any tutorial that is found on the web and posting it (as much as i would like to) because thats breaking copyright. All content on CosplayWiki is lisenced under Creative Commons 3.0 Lisence so it is important that we obtain permission to use the content first.

Wikifying a Text Tutorial

Alright so about wikifying a tutorial. The first thing to do is look at the tutorial and determine whether it is text or an image. If it text, then it's going to be a lot easier. Just copy and paste the text in, then go ahead and edit the text so it is similar to that found in the instructions found in posting a tutorial.

Wikifying a Image Tutorial

If the tutorial is an image it will need to be converted to text. This is a bit more complicated as you will need to re-type the text that is on the image. Why do this when it is already written? Well the point of the wiki is that everyone can edit and contribute, but unfortuantly when it is an image, you really cant do that. Plus it is just easier to read. Currently the settings for uploading an image is disabled for most users but if you are uploading tutorials and need to upload images, you can either contact Unknowbie and have him upload your images or request upload access for your account. For the images in the tutorial, your best bet is to use something like PhotoShop and cut the images out. Save them for web to decrease the size of the images.
